A classically trained tenor and multi-instrumentalist, Romulo Delgado's versatility as a performer has enchanted audiences all over North America and Europe, as well as multiple Canadian Prime Ministers and former U.S. President, Bill Clinton.
Delgado's operatic roles include Pinkerton in Puccini's Madama Butterfly, Alfredo in Verdi's La Triviata, Don Jose in Bizet'sCarmen, the Duke of Mantua in Verdi'sRigoletto, Mario Cavaradossi in Puccini'sTosca, and Ricardo in the Canadian premiere of Verdi's Oberto.
Soloist | Michael York - Baritone
Toronto baritone, Michael York, is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. He has been seen most recently as Nilokantha in Delibe’s Lakmé with Opera by Request and Renato in Un ballo in Maschera with Coro Verdi in Toronto. Other recent roles include the Count in Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro with the Guelph Symphony Orchestra and the title role in Verdi's Rigoletto with Opera York.
In Ontario, Michael has appeared as a soloist with Chorus Niagara, the Elora Festival Singers, the Cellar Singers, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, Arcady, the Millikin-Decatur Symphony and the Bach Artists of Champaign-Urbana. Before moving to Toronto, he was a member of the voice faculty at Millikin University in Illinois where he taught voice and directed for the opera program.
