From Beethoven to Bowie to our first venture into fully staged opera, our 2016/17 concert season features a variety of music for all tastes.

MSO Masterworks

The MSO Masterworks series continues to pay homage to the great composers of symphonic music, this season featuring the exquisite sounds of BerliozBrahmsBeethoven and Liszt.  MSO Masterworks wraps with a thrilling season finale featuring Respighi's Feste Romane.  Renowned soloist, Peter Longworth, returns to our stage to perform Beethoven's iconic Piano Concerto No. 5, "Emperor".  Stanford Cheung, winner of the third annual MSO Youth Concerto Competition, makes his debut performance as a soloist with Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1. Talented members of our orchestra will round out the roster of superb soloists featured throughout the season.

MSO Holiday

The MSO Holiday series continues with two annual traditions; Highlights from Messiah, this year featuring soloists and full chorus from the
Mississauga Festival Chamber Choir; and, A Merry Little Christmas, our family-oriented Christmas program that will once again fuse the MSO and MSYO, and feature special guests, the Resonance Youth Choir

MSO Opera

The MSO Opera series will make its historic debut with our first venture into the world of fully staged opera. We are thrilled to announce our presentation of Bizet's exotic drama, Carmen.  This story of an alluring gypsy girl and her tragic love affair with a jealous solider has thrilled audiences across the globe for generations.
