Kevin Anderson is a graduate of the Faculty of Music at Western University where he studied percussion with Robert Hughes and D’Arcy Gray. After finishing his music degree, Kevin completed a Bachelor of Education and taught music in York Region for more than 30 years. His concert bands, jazz ensembles and vocal jazz choirs performed in festivals across the country and the US.
Kevin has been a serving member in the Canadian Armed Forces as a reservist since 1990. He was a percussionist in the Band of the Royal Regiment of Canada for 24 years before becoming their Director of Music in 2014. He currently holds the rank of Captain and has been awarded the Canadian Forces’ Decoration.
Kevin has been the Principal Percussionist of the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra for the past six seasons. He has also performed with several orchestras, military bands, pit orchestras and brass ensembles as a freelance musician.
Kevin is the Assistant Director of Interprovincial Music Camp and is also an avid cyclist.
