On Saturday, October 14, we begin our 2023/2024 concert season with two breathtaking works from the Romantic era – Rachmaninoff’s beloved second piano concerto, and Brahms’ monumental second symphony.

Rich melodies and passionate expression have made Rachmaninoff’s second piano concerto a favorite among audiences and performers alike. Soloist Vanessa Yu joins the orchestra for what will be an incredible performance of one of the greatest works in the piano repertoire.

Brahms’ second symphony is a monumental orchestral composition. Known for its lush orchestration and its ability to evoke a range of emotions, the symphony stands as a testament to compositional mastery, and remains a beloved work within the symphonic repertoire.
