We are deeply honoured to welcome Shannon Thunderbird for a special performance of The Huron Carol during A Merry Little Christmas on Saturday December 14 at 7:30PM.

Shannon Thunderbird is a Coast Ts’msyen First Nations Elder, Tribal Affiliation: Lax Kw’alaams Band, Northern British Columbia, Royal House of Niis’gumiik. Clan: Gispudwada (Orca). She is a celebrated Singer-Songwriter, Recording Artist, International Speaker/Workshop Facilitator, Author, and Playwright.

Shannon’s focus is bringing the Indigenous oral narrative to the forefront whether it be live theatre, classrooms, choirs, or corporate events. She includes powerful vocals, big drums, stories, and plenty of humor. The word ‘dynamic’ is often attributed to the richness of the experience.

A special thank you to Chris McKhool of Sultans of String for a beautiful new adaptation of John Steckley’s original lyrics to what is known as Canada’s first Christmas Carol.
