Karen has also worked extensively in musical theatre, including productions of Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, The Sound of Music , The Secret Garden and Wicked. Through her association with the Mississauga Symphony, Karen has also worked for the Peel Board of Education in the “Meet-A-Musician” program in which she has introduced the oboe to hundreds of school children each year.
More recently, Karen has been involved with a program which partners musicians with residents of a long-term care facility in Toronto. She is able to share her love of music and the oboe with different residents via Skype. Karen is also pursuing online her life-long interest in all things French. She looks forward to the day when both concerts and conversations can once again take place in person.
